This is the start of regular blog on my art of egg tempera painting!
My most recent piece I created during a show at Chedworth Roman Villa, run by the National Trust.

This was painted at that show, I used my wife's basket of coloured wool as inspiration, because I had made up limited colours I decided to change the wool into oranges. I then added the two leeks. I began by painting in the guide lines with iron red oxide, this provided a stable and consistent line-work as a base for the painting. The textiles in front are tapestry samples. This painting is postcard size on a wood.
